As an NLC state, Ohio is easy for travel nurses with multistate licenses. If you need an Ohio-specific license, make sure to find a 'Category A' CE provider early, as it's a hard requirement for issuance.

Endorsement Process

Endorsement Fee: $75

Single-state endorsement is $75; multistate is $100. Must complete at least 2 contact hours of Category A (Law and Rule) CE prior to initial OH licensure.

Temporary License Information

Temporary permits are issued for 180 days and are generally processed once the board receives the application and fee.

Wait times increase during 'graduation season' (May-July) and renewal cycles (July-October of odd years).

Continuing Education

24 hours required every 2 years

24 hours per cycle. 1 hour must be 'Category A' CE directly related to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
